[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.] A SHIRKER ARRESTED. PAHIATUA, Nov. 6th. John Franz Eugene Baucke, of Paliiatua, who was drawn in the ballot some months ago, and disappeared a day before he was warned to parade, was arrested at midnight last night at the foot of Tarurua range on the Palmerston side. It is believed he had been hiding in the bush. Police on both sides of the range had been keeping a good 'ook out. The arrest wa's made by the Palmerston police. ■ A CHARGE DISMISSED. AUCKLAND, Nov. 6th. . The Magistrate said that the oil ’aiineh in question was a seagoing ves•ol, according to the War Regulations, Guib the regulation applied only to British Allied and neutral craft, and did iot- apply to this boat or the crew, vhieli were Alien. The information was dismissed.
