It is a vivid love story and shows the evil of jealousy where passion uncontrolled almost destroys the man’s soul. The story in brief is as follows:

David Tryne is the man and Sonia, the daughter of an exiled Russian noble man living in poverty in New York, is his angel. Sonia saves David from arrest as a thief mid makes him her grateful servitor for life. Wealthy ■ friends come into Sonia’s life and J make of her a great operatic singer. ! David becomes her manager. Sonia is about to marry wlip.n David, spurred 'on by unconquerable jealousy plays n .dastardly trick. He alone knows the secret of Sonia’s noble birth. He sub- . sti-tutes forged papers that- make her appear of ignoble and illegitimate extraction. Sonia turns her lover away, although lie still wishes to marry her, and in humiliation hides herself from her friends. David, not content with the success of his scheme, hires Sonia into a compromising position. He is killed during the struggle between Sonia’s bothrothed and another man, but- while dying, atones by producing the documents that prove Sonia’s noble blood ahd re-unite the lovers.
