i LONDON, October 22. ! A German official mesage says: The enemy attacks in Flanders tailed with the exceptionn of a small gain near Veldhock, northward of Langemarck. The British attack on the MeninYpres road near Baoke failed completely. | LONDON, October 23. German official. —The Anglo French penetrated deeply into our defences at the southern edge of Houthulst Mood, but counter-attacks repulsed the enemy whose gains were only three hundred ( metres deep and twelve hundred wide. Enemy assaults. on Poel Capelle astride of Gheluvelt road failed. m The enemy artillerying between Ail ~ lette and Brays increased to continuous drumfire in the morning. The Frencl attacked at day-break.
