Th© Euchre Tournament in aid of the* Red Cross fund hold on last Thursday night, was well patronised, thirty two players participating, and each one eager to win the Ainas Lamb donated buiy Mr. Gardiner Wilson of Camerons. Mrs -••organ who secured the highest number of points by the ladies and Mr. Carroll the highest by the gentlemen played olf for the prize, the formed' winning the lamb. A special ladies prize was won by Mrs Atkinson of Goldsborough. Mass Jones and Mr. E. Mitchell securing the booby ’prizes. A bountiful supply of refreshments provided by the. ladies, was then handed around after which a pleasant hours j dancing was indulged -in. The music j was supplied by Mrs Stewart of Goldsborough, Misses Jones and and Messrs Blackmun and G. Linklater. During the evening songs were nicely rendered bv Miss Jones and Ic. Olderog. The M.C’.s for the evening were Messrs R. Roberts, W. Bernhardt and R. Turner.

Private George Turner, who was wounded on the arm by the\bursting of a gun at the battle of Messines, and who was also wounded on a former occasion returned on Saturday evening, being invalided ..home from the front. Private Turner, is at present with his parents. His many friends in this district, wish him a speedy recovery to health.
