NOTICES OF MOTION. ], The Chairman to move : “ That the accounts presented for the month of August-. 1917, as revised and passed tor payment by the Finance Committee, amounting to £69f> 8/10, as per schedule before the meeting, be now approved.” 2. The Chairman to move: “That the accounts presented for the month of September, 1917, as revised and recommended for payment by ihc Finance Committee, amounting to jg , be passed for payment. ;! The Chairman to move : “That pmsuant to the provisions of the Impounding Act, a public pound be appointed adjacent the County Roadman’s residence, main south road, Malainui. and Thomas Nolan be apoointed pound keeper in charge thereof.”

The Chairman to move: “That, applications be invited lor the position of Valuer of mining property within the County of Westland ; remuneration £<•() for the service.” 5. .Mr Murdoch to move: “That, repairs to Harris Creek bridge, Old Christchurch Road, damaged by floods, he authorised, and the Overseer instructed to carry out the work.”

Li. Mr Bruce to move:—“That, the Chairman he empowered to lake any and all steps necessary to raise the funds requisite for adapting the proposed tramway bridge across Mikonui river for public vehicle traffic, and that the Public Works Committee he empowered to arrange with Messrs Stuart and Chapmen to adapt the proposi-d bridge as required, the Council to agree to pay the cost ol same its fixed by the public Works Committee; and that the Ross Borough Council he invited to join with this Council in arranging for the bridging of the Mikonui river for public traffic on the foregoing linos, and in accordance with the terms and conditions of an agreement, to he drawn up between the local bodies and the sawmilling company’ undertaking the important industrial venture in South Westland.
