KUMARA NOTES.
The annual meet ing of the Kumara Dairy Factory was held at the com-' patty’s office on the 21st., a fairly re-' presentative number of shareholders he ing present. Mr. Martyn occupied iIIO chair. The Secretary read the Chaim j man’s report, also the report of the manager, and the balance sheet, all of which were adopted. The total receipts for butter for the year was £3178, whilst the amount paid to suppliers for butter-fat was £2250 13s 3d. The expenses for the year were £BOO. The overdraft at the Bank of New Zealand, was reduced to £2OO. Messrs Martyn, McDonald and Richards were re-appoinlcfl directors. A bonus of £ls was voted to the manager. It was decided to leave in the hands of the manager the arrangements for the supply of butter-fat for the ensuing year. It was also agreed to call for tenders for the carting of cream from the settlement to the factory, returnable next Monday (Oct Ist). Votes of thanks were passed to the chairman and manager, and at a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. Martyn. was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year.
\ special meeting of the Borough Council was hold on Wednesday to consider a letter received from the lion. W. Fraser, Minister for Public Works, relative, to the Zig-Zag Road, and as a result the council appointed Mr J. C. AlcEarlano, of Hokitika) to make a survey and the work will he proceeded with at once.
