J ■J NELSON, Sept. 17. j Information was received by the Chief Postmaster at noon to-day, that the. steamer Regulus passed Farewell Spitj at 11.10 this morning towing two largo j life boats. The message concluded with the word “sixty.” Whether this means the number of men in tho boats, is a matter of eoni jeeture. 1 Tho Regulus left Nelson for- AVest (’oast ports last night. The vessel should reach the Port at fivo this afternoon . FURTHER PARTICULARS. 60 shipwrecked. j NELSON This Day. , | Air. Dyson, acting .Manager of the; Anchor Cov. has been advised that sixty in the previous.message refers to the number of tho shipwrecked crew He states the Regulus left at 3.30. this morninug and Cape Farewell at 1 5.30. As she passed the Capo on hor return at 11.10. a.m. she probably picked up tjhc ship wreck rid (crew, somewhere between Cape Farewell and Kahuranga lighthouse, unless the vessel’s course ®was diverted which is unlikely, owing to the thick weather.
