IMG BRICES FOR STOCK

The annual spring sale of surplus stock took place at'the above ' yard* yesterday when favoured by line weather the attendance was a record. Buyers were present from llari llari South, to Greymoiith and Otira in the North. There was a keen.demand for all classes of stock, as will he gathered from the prices recorded below. Especially was this noticeable in the store cattle lines when all good framed two to two ;md a half and three year old steers made prices efpial to those ruling at the East Coast .Markets. Due line <>l line shorthorn ems s two year steers made CIO (is. ; 18 months old steers made up to £8 18s, and heifers to CK 12s (id. Several pens cl .at stock brought prices equal to Arahura. Micro was a fair percentage of dairy s.loek sun milled, the hulk of which was sold at tip top prices, .nr. John Dimmick’s dairy stock, especially the belters, brought forward keen competition and save for two or three small lines of daily cows, the lot wore sold. 1 here were some excellent prices lor yeailings. and in one case these reached us high as £5 9s. A record was established at the Yards for price when a pen ol fine bullocks submitted on behalf of Mr. T. (’rmigh Sr. made an excellent price of £2l per head. A pen ol (at wethers made -10 s. A number of smaller lines <>t young stock realised prices on a par with the above.

For 65 i'.p.u. shares in the Kokatahi Dairy factory there was no offer.
