Tinder the care of the Society there are 50 asylums for lepers in India, Burma, China, Japan, and Korea. There are 20 homes for untainted children leprous parents. No less than 11,550 lepers and children are segregated and 88 stations at which the Mission is working. The lepers of India are estimated at 250,000. This dreadful malady among the Indian people is only part of the White Man’s burden, part of the. Christian man’s burden in India. The Society referred to is under t-lie host direction and receives the highest commendation. Indian statesmen and viceroys commend it. The President is the Lord Primate of Ireland, and it has for vice Presidents representative men of Britain and America. Tn New Zealand the society is also represented . The Rev. Frank Oldricvo of Ashburton is the representative in the South Island. He arrives in Hokitika on Saturday night- He will give an address in the Methodist church on Sunday morning and in the evening in the Presbyterian church on “What I saw in Tndia.” .Tie will give n lantern lecture in St. Andrew’s Hall on Tuesday night.”
