THE NEW PARTY.
ITS AIMS AND OBJECTS.
fAUSTRALIAN & N.Z. OABLB ASSOCIATION] LONDON, Aug. 30 There is curiosity in political circles at the aims of the newly fledged political parties.
Hon. Lloyd George’s party remains a comparative mystery. It is unlike the national party whose supporters are mainly Unionist and Tariff Reformers. The manifesto .however, does not refer to the tariff, and urges a vigorous war policy, and the eradiction of German influence, the abolition of the sale of honours, the establishment of unity and confidence between employers and employed, the unity of Empire in Councdl, and defence and mutual aid in developing the Empire’s resources, and improved social condtiions.
The manifesto denounces the wornout patry system with its ruthless mach ines and alleges the publio is universally complaining of Government’s lack of moral courage.
Twenty-seven signatories include six Piers and six Commoners.
It is generally considered that any new parties will not assist in the effective conduct of the war.
