SIX MONTHS’ LOSSES.

The “Times” Engineer supplement comments that the losses of 82 5 vessels for the half year’s ruthlessness represents about one eight of the mercantile fleet, the average loss being 3776 tons for each vessel, excluding the 140 fishing vessels sunk.

LONDON August Si. The ‘’Daily Mail” says that the submarines are still the master problem of the war and the losses are almost seventy big ships monthly. This reveals that wo are barely holding our own and at very severe cost. NEW SUBMARINES. (Received This Day lat 10.15. a.m.) COPENHAGEN, Aug. 81.
