The vessel returned tb the New South Wales capital; nnd then brought the. body of the Prime Minister diiect to Wellington. The Roscommon was owned hy ■ the Fcdeinl-Honlder-Shire . but ■ was afterwards acquired hy the New Zealand'Shipping Company. She was a twin-screw four masted steamer OF 7368 tons gross, and 474? to«is net, classed 100 A. at Lloyds’, and built in 1902 by Workman, Clark and Vo., Ltd at Belfast.
