Tho “Daily Express” reports t«.ac the strike in tho munition factories at Cologne is owing to the refusal of tho demand for more pay to compensate for tho high prices and scarcity of food. A strike is threatened in all the shipyards in Germnny unless more pay and shorter hours are granted. GERMAN POLITICS. Received, this day at 8.45 a.m.) BERNE, August 26. Tho National Liberals, Centro Progressives and a majority of the Socialists, have combined to introduce a resolution in the Reichstag, demanding the abolition of the political censorship they also demand .the suspension of maritial law.

Tlie “Tagleblatt” says that Von Payer, the Progressive leader,’has sent an ultimatum to Dr. Michaelis, linen wvoeallv to adhere to the basis of the Reichstag peace resolutions, otherwise he will lose the support of the majority parties. This led to Dr. Mi oil noils’* second declaration adhering to the resolution. Many newspapers assail him as a waver or, not knowing his own mind.
