CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and 00. report as follows regarding the above sales 011 Wednesday:— Fat Cattle.—There was a nondescript entry. Competition was regular throughout, especially for cows and handy heifer beef,, no lines of prime steers being included in our entry. Wo consider l>est steer beef sold at 50s to 555; cow and heifer to 60s. Store cattle. —111 ore was a small mar ket of inferior sorts. All classes wero firm at late rates
Fat sheep.—There was a fairly largo entry, t|io quality, with few exceptions, being different, and. a larger proportion of ewes than lately. The market, except for the primest stuff, was considerably lower and but for grazers competition would have been lower still. Best wethers sold to 565, prime 60s to 475; medium graziers sorts 31s to 33s ; lighter 26s to 30s. Store sheep.—There was a small market mostly made up' of hoggets and wethers. All classes of wethers sold well from 34s to 36s 10; best ewe hoggets up to 32s 0d; best ewe in lamb up to 30s 6d; inferior sorts met with a dull sale. !
