At the Postal Enquiry, Harry Seabrook {produced correspondence with Postal officers in regard to the return of a letter addressed to the “Meneo an American publication which letter was marked ‘‘.Prohibited.” He also produced a letter from the PostmasterGeneral expressing regret that this letter had to be returned, specially as there was not authority lor that act. He had no doubt the letter had been stopped through a misunderstanding He was not aware of any organisation to stop the issue of the “Menee.’’ He assured Sen brook neither of the two officers concerned in the stopping ot the letter in question was a Roman Catholic. Mr'. Grey asked witness would lie accept the statement that neither of the officers was a Roman Catholic. Witness after some hesitation, replied—‘‘Yes, I do, but I want to know who is at the hack ofthose officers,” AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. William Richardson, a printer, stated in March or April he was waited on bv Superintendent Kioly and two policemen. Iviely asked if lie had published a leaflet entitled “Rome’s hideous guilt in the European carnage.” Witness replied that it bore his miprint. The Superintendent asked how many copies had been published, and witness replied 15,000. The Superintendent seemed surprised, though .witness had since discovered that the number published totalled 20,000.

lie asked if witness intended to continue, publishing the pamphlets, to which witness replied that he was, and that it had been reprinted from the Church Magazines. The Superintendent asked i! he intended to print more. Witness replied that lie did. A few more witnesses gave evidence of not having received an envelope addressed to them. This closed Rev. Elliot’s ease. The enquiry was then adjourned till Tuesday.
