THE POPE’S NOTE
[London times service—copyright] L ROME August 16. The Pope’s diplomatic advisers and famous professors assisted to prepare the peace note. Correspondents state that the Pope docs not expect the Note to bring about peace but believes that it would havo an important effect upon negotiations which he anticipates will take place shortly. The Note was completed before the Russian debacle in Galicia.
FRENCH PAPER’S ACCUSATION PARIS, August 15.
“Le Petit Parisen” says that the Papal Note states the Austrian so exactly that it must have, been suggested by the Emperor Charles.
