Messrs Matson and Co. report as.follows regarding the above sales on Wednesday : -- ; ■ Fat cattle. —There was a small yarding of excellent quality, and prices,, especially for prime steers, were much higher host quality making £3, per Jpmdred. Rest steer,s sold ltd £32 ,5s medium £lB to. £2l 1?., extra good cows £2l, ordinary £l2 10s. to £l4, heifers £l4 to £l6 10s.. Store cattle—There was a fair yarding and the demand was slightly better. Two year old &tefers. £7- to £8 2s. 6d., yearlings £5 to £6 Is., empty cows £6 10s. to £9. . . Fat sheep—There was a j?mall yarding again to*!# p'fiees - being. firm. Rest Wethers 445. Bd. to 555. Cd., 'prime 38s. ,6d. to 445. 6d., medium lighter 345. to 375. Gd. Very few owes wore yarded and prices were good;. Rest- up to 48s. Store Sheep—'There as a .larger entry and all the besfi ewes were decidedly easier. Best wethers, mid hoggets wer6 the same as'last w&efc and other softs were easier. . ; .
