Alter tlic battle of Alessincs the New Zealanders enjoyed a spell out of the line, during which they held a big sport,s meeting lasting three days. There is much' air aetivitiv on both sides, ineluding night flying and the bombing of the back areas. The other night the enemy bombed a hospital, killing and wounding several men. The enemy ’planes fly lower than formerly and n tew have recently been firing their machine guns into our trenches. The artillery on both sides is active. Recently.. there have been terrific bombardments raging along various parts of tffo front day and night. Wo listen to flic continuous thunder of guns.
