WESTLAND SCHOOLS COMMITTEES’ ASSOCIATION.

FRIDAY, July 20th. Tho Committee met at th© Education Office at 8 p.in, Present: —Messrs J. Lloyd (chair) R. Wild, F. W. Selby, D. Kelly, J. King, and A. Aitkeu. An apology was made for th© absence of Mrs. Valentine. Tho minutes of tho provious meeting were read and ocufirmed. The Chairman said the chief object of the moetiDg was the reception and confirmation of the rules of the Association. Thq outward correspondence was read and approved. The Chairman welcomed the Woodstock delegate (Mr. D. Kelly). INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From "Woodstock School • Committee appointing Mr. 'D. Kelly as delegate for their Committee: —Received. From.Okuru Committee, appointing Mr R Wild as thoir proxy delegate— Received. From Wainihinihi Commit-te, stating that they would not nppoint a delegate to represent them, —Received, It waa resolved that reconsideration be asked for. The report of tho Sub-Committee on the-rules of the Committee was considered. A number of amendments were made and then rules as amended were agreed to. With the object of giving the Country Committees representation on the Executive, Mr. Aitkeu withdrew from the portion of Vice-President. The resignnti »i was accepted and Mr. FSelby was appointed Vice-President on the motion og Messrs Kelly and Aitken. Ihe appointment of Secretary was deferred until 'the appointment of secretary for Hokitika School Committee.

Mr R. Wild was appointed Treasurer, Mr. Aitken brought forward the question of school requisites.

It- was resolved to ask head-masters to furnish a list of the probable requirements’of the various schools for the year, for school requisites not supplied bv the Board. The next meeting of tli© Committee was fixed for Thursday, Sept. 20tli. . The meeting closed at 8.45 p.m.,
