EXPORT OF HEMP. WELLINGTON, July 10. It is notified in to-night’s Gazette that the Minister of Customs has granted general permission to, tho exportation of hemp (phomium tenax) to the United States. No application, or permit.' will in future he required, but a declaration of its ultimate destination must ho produced to the Collector of Customs before shipment. It is aided that- it should b» understood that this general permit may at any time be withdrawn. BACK TO NORMAL. WELLINGTON, July 18. Hie gas supply of Wellington is nearly back to normal, and it is hoped there will bo sufficient to render imnettessary fmMflier restriction oi hours. Two steamers laden with coal for the Gas Company hare been discharged in town. No ooal has been discharged at the Miramar wharf s'nco tho retort hands ceased work.
