THE IRISH CONTENTION

MEETS THIS MONTH

LONDON, July 6th. Mr, Lloyd George, in H°use of Commons, announced that the Iriak Convention would assemble at Dublin on July 35th. The preliminary business would b e to appoint a Chairman. The Rt. Hon- H. E. Duke would act as provisional chairman. The Government would ffominat 0 a Chairman in the event of the Convention not agreeing to make an appointment. Most of the nominations of delegates had already been received. Eminent Irishmen are assembling from all porta in a spirit of conciliation. They would endeavour to secure a settlement of the old di*- j cords and the Government would do its j best for the same end.
