The Daily Chronicle’s correspondent at Amsterdam states the estimates of German casualties appearing in the British newspapers are necessarily founded on German lists. These are so inaccurate that recent efforts were made in the Reichstag to elicit- the truth. Thereupon fresh figures were given under the seal of secrecy, showing that over f wo millions of Germans hadi been killed and died of wounds or sickness. Those permanently disabled number upwards of three millions. The above statistics do not include th e recent heavy fighting along the Hin-enburg line.
