FATHER KILLS IIIS SOX

A farmer named George Jackson, residing with liis wife and family, attacked his 18-vear-old son Thomas wifch a knife. The quarrel arose in the house ' at dinner. It is alleged that Jackson sewod a knife and stabbed his son. Realising what he had done. Jackson saddled his horse and galloped t,o Ashhurst for medical assistance,' which was procured. The young man was brought to Palmerston North Hospital, hut his condition became worse late last night, and the police communicated with Jackson, who was arrested at ah hotel at Ashlmrst and brought to Palmerston early this morning. The, young man gradually became worse and died about eight o’clock this morning. Accused, appeared before the. Magistrate, Mr. Kenrick. Jackson, who was in an agitated, condition was charged with that lie assaulted, stabbed and.killed his son, Thomas Jackson. Sub-Inspector McKinnon asked for a remand for a week, which was granted.
