Prince Louis of Battenburg assumes tho title of Marquis of Milfordhavcn, previously held by George 11. and George of Battenburg, the courtesy title of the Earl of Medina. Prince Alexander of Tock becomes the Earl of Athlone.

FOOD CONTROL. TO BE STRICTER. LONDON, June 26th. The Press Bureau states Lord Rhondda has decided on a more complete and strict control of foodstuffs, enforcing maximum prices and limiting profits at every stage of production and distribution. A Costing department will be established in connection with the Food Ministry to ascertain the cost of production and handling on the. actual cost, in addition to normal pre-war profit.

COPENHAGEN, Juno 27
The “Northern Bladen” states Von Rantenfcls was sent to Norway by th 0 German Foreign Office with many 'trunks filled with explosives, officially sealed, and addressed to the German Legation at Christiania.
These .traversed the Norwegian customs unopened.
The Norwegian Government informed Germany of the discovery at the Legation and invited her to sejjd representatives to attend the opening of the’ trunks but no one appeared.

Official.—Germany ihas agreed to cede a number of German ships now in .Dutch East India, of a value equivalent to seven vessels torpedoed from the 23rd to th e 27th. - Germany will compensate the crews of the lost ships
