The programme for the evoning’s entertainment is in the hands of tho Overseas Club which is arranging for a now group of speakers, and several now faces for tiho musical programme. The Overseas Orchestra will assist as usual, while the men will be entertained at supper at the Oversea' rooms.

The death of Airs A. F. Kemple took place at (the j'esidenoe of her daughter, Airs J. Hannan, Winnie" street, Greymouth, yestorlay. Deceased was 76 years of age and was a of Dumfries, Scotland. She came to. New Zealand, 65 years ago and settled at Waimoa, removing later to Greymouth where she lived for (the past 30 years. Airs Kemple leaves three daughters and one son- The daughters are:—Airs J. Hannan, n*.., I). Maßreai’ty • (Greymouth), Aliss Kemple' (Paroa), and the son Mr F. Kemple (Wellington). The news of the death of Airs John James Williams, of Beach street, which took place this morning at an early hour, will come ns a shiock to her many friends. Sho had only been ill for a few days, and it was not known that the illness was likely to have fatal results. Deceased was the oldest daughter of the late Air James Lynch and Airs Lynch of Beach street, and was born at Greymouth 36 years ago. A bereaved husband and a little daughter, Daphne, mother, two sisters (Mrs L. Williams, of Greymouth),' ana Aliss E. Lynch, anl three brothers, Messrs Henry, Fred, and Theo. Lynch are left to mourn their, loss. It is with regret that we record the death of another old and highly respected resident in th e person of Airs AlcGuigan, of Kanieri,- which took place about four o’lc/ijek \his morning at a private hospital, where she had been known to ho seriously ill for a few days. The deceased, who was the widow of the.late Air. Owen AlcGuigan, of Kanieri, came to New Zealand .about 50 years ago, and most-of that period, has been a resident of Kanieri, winning the esteem and respect of the whole community. She leaves a family of three sons and two daughters. The sons are Corporal Thomas MeGtHgan, now on the w<i» to England with tho 23rd ' Reinforcements, Mr Owen AlcGuigan ot the Defence Department at Dunedin, and Mr John AlcGuigan, who is now improving from a serious illness at AA estland Hospital.
