On the final figures the Nationalists have lost the Macquarrie seat by a mar gin of nine. Mr. Finlayson, P.L.L. re, tains the Brisbane seat by a majority of 16. Recounts are probable in some cases and there is every probability that the Darwin seat which has become vacant through the death of Mr. Howroyd will so to the Nationalists making their strength in the New House 68. The Nationalists won the whole of the 1? Senate seats by good Majorities
