The Next Ballot.
DUNEDIN, May 25. Discussing the next ballot, Sir James Allen said it would bo a big draw, because the standard of the medical examinational liad been raised. The authorities in England wore not now sending men between 44 and 45 years of a'ge to the front, as they couid not stand the. strain. That question was now under consideration by the next New Zealand Cabinet. Next week’s ballot was likely to be as large as the last one, which contained 8000 names.-There was a shortage men in canjp, which the Government wished to have made up.
