LONDON, May 13 Sir Douglas Haig gives further details of last night’s attacks and confirms the success of the operation. Considerable onemy forces were observed last night massing for a counter-attack in tdie neighbourhood of Bullecourt. They were effectively dealt with by our artillery and their attack did net develop. "We attacked later and after night long fighting established ourselves in Bullecourt village. The fighting continues. The enemy’s attack upon our new positions was scattered by our artillery. • We captured and are astride of the Arras-Cambrai road and 1200 yards of trenches, including a strong cavalry position. We continued our advance to-day carrying positions in the neighbourhood on a front of half a mil#. We took many prisoners. Gallanl/^nzacs. WELLINGTON, May 14. The Australians for ten days gallantly maintained their positions in this sector, repelling at least twelve determined counter attacks. We hold the greater part of Bullecourt and have established ourselves in the western houses of Roeux. Wo again progressed on the western slopes of Greenland hill. - We brought down eleven German aeroplanes. Six of ours are missing. Capture of Prisoners.
