In this issue Messrs W. Jeffries & Co announce that on Wednesday May 23rd at 11.30 a.m., on the claim at Ro-:s, they will offer by auction on behalf of the Mont D’or Gold mining Company in liquidation, the freehold property of 97 acres, together with the whole of tho tools used for the Extensive working of the claim. Fur her particulars will be found in another column. The Rev Father Cronin of Foxton, formerly stationed at Westport, has recently been transferred to Fielding. Before leaving Foxton the departing priest was presented with a purse of sovereigns hy his parishioners as a mark of their esteem. The presentation was made by Mr P. G. Jackson, who referred to the regret all felt at the Bev Cronin’s removal. Since his arrival at Foxton, nearly three years ago, he had won the hearts of - all his people, and nis minist ations and kindly sympathy and advice would long be remembered.
