McLEAN’S PICTURES

“THE GARDEN OR LIES.” TO-NIGHT. McLcan’si will present a special non bill of picture successes at the Opera House to-night, which will be headed by the beautiful love story in four heart stirring acts, “The Garden of ' Lies” told by that master writer, Ju*tui Miles Foreman, who went down in flic Lusitania. It is one of the most successful plays of the year, and a picture that cannot fail, set in the midst of passion, intrigue and daring adventure, and starring beautiful Jane Cowl as the Princess Eleanor a!nd William .Russell as Denis Mallory, and a brilliant supporting, company. Denis Mallory, a genial and happy go-lucky young Irishman undertook the bitterest task of his life when he agreed to live, a lie to save a woman’s sanity, perhaps her very life itself. Why the lie was necessary—the consequences of the act —the heart-ache and bitter pain, tho misunderstanding, the tragedy of it all. and the final reaching out after happiness, peace and love. Why ? Sea “The Garden of Lies.” A famous poet said: ( “Truth never was indebted to a lie.” But a still more famous poet answered : “All is not false that seems at firsta lie.’ The supporting subjects are all new and thoroughly interesting and can only be seen at McLean’s; while the orchestra will be responsible for an attractive entertainment. gagggjawcraaoMw—■■ mt mr : _i met.
