A first offender was convioted and fined 10/ and costs 7/ for being drunk on Kumara' Racecourse on Easter

Monday. A first offender was convicted and fined 10/for 'being on licegsed premises daring the hours such premises are required to be closed.

A lad in the Territorials was charged with (1) obstructing a parade and (2) refusing to leave parade when requested to do bo. Defendant plead-

ed not guilty. The evideuce of Lieut J. E, Wada was taken. Defendant elecied not to give evidence beyond stating that the cadets were throwing sods at him and he retaliated. He was convicted and fined 10/ and 7/ costs on each charge. Fensom Bros (Mr Murdoch) v B. Kean, claim £ll 3/4. Judgment by default with coats 28/6. Tbeo Saraty (Mr Murdoch) v D, Ryan, claim £2 3/6. Judgment for amount claimed and costs 10/. M. E. Morris (Mr Murdoch) v Ah Shay, claim £4 10/. Judgment for amount claimed and costs 5/. Evidence was taken in the case Baker Bros v J. H. Fleming, on the application of defendant, the latter having been sued for £B, for rent of honse during renovation, prior to occupation. Both Dr and Mrs Fleming gave evidence. His Worship said the account rendered was ingenuous and vague.
