From High School Board, asking appointment of representative for Council on Beard.—Received ; held over ;i!i next meeting. From J. W. Fox, Secretary Druido’ Lodge, thanking Council for granting me of room in Town Hail.— Received, From County C'erk, notifying a meeting would be held on Wednesday at the Town Half at which a reptesensitive of the National Efficiency Board would deliver an address and inviting Councillors to be present. — Reosived end invitation accepted. From 0. Gibbon- 3 , Inspector, applying for ten days’ leave of absence. — Received ; rrquest granted. From Messrs Lick and Morri’, Kauieri, again drawing attention to the s** 1« in tbe district of uncertificated meat—Received. It was stated that action would bo taken as soon as the deed in course of preparation was , gi zatfed. REPORTS. From Treasurer leoo'tirg receipts £574 11/10, pay men's £L‘25 4/2, credit bala'co £498 10/8. —Received. Accounts amounting to £297 6/7 wer6 parsed for payment. From Manager,-Abattoir, reporting during moDtb of March iheie were (Jxarninod 12 cows, 57 bullocks, 189 sheep 75 lamb', L pig, 3 c lives. Of these there were condemned 1 budock, 1 sbeap, and 1 shop pig. Fees for period £4B 2/3. —Received. Mr Stapleton asked if a case of Eever at the Mental Hospital had been reported and also complained of the water from the Mental Hospital going through th 3 Abattoir grounds. It was stated the fever case had been eported to the Health authorities and lecessary action taken. There was a general discussion, Councillors no- being unanimous as to he proper course of action. Ultimately it was resolved that Captain Ucbarda wait on the ‘Superintendent >f the Mental Hospital as to BDg»ested improvements. The Council hen a’ { jnar»ad.
