Annual Meeting. As the afternoon wore on the rain got heavier and the showers more frequent. In spite of this the programme was carried through euc□easfnlty though the unfavourable conditions caused some delay to the timetable. The events were well contested and speculation was fairly brisk under the damp conditions, the sum of £3112 passing through the totalisater for the day, as' against £•2,114 iu 1915 and £3803 last year. The officials were attentive to tho duties and canieo them out well in Bpite of the difficulties of the day. A protest for crossing, iu the Trotting Club Handicap was dismissed. Rosella, (13) Miss Rue Bell. Precision went to the front and was never headed winning easily. Time 5.27; tote £514. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP (saddle), 1 mile: (1) LOVEBIRD (16secs) 1 (2) POSIE G-. (16secs) 3 (3) MASTER, THECKLA (scr) ... 3 Also started—(4) Rose Tracey, (4) Manresa, (5) Borneo. Lovebird want to the front and won very easily. Time 2.39; tote £317. FINAL HANDICAP( (harness), 11 Miles: (1) Agasonia (Osecs) 1 (3) ZEPPA (17secs) 2. (2) Tassy M. (6sers) 3 Also started—(s) Myrtle Leaf, (M Lady Bombay. Zeppa and Lady Bombay raced together for a good part of tho distance, but Agcsenia coming strongly from the rear had tho race well in hand, and won comfortably. Time 4.9; tote £498.
