ADDINGTON STOCK SALES

CHRISTCHURCH, Apm *. Messrs Matson and Co. report regarding Addington^ stock sales: Fat Ca t,tie.—There was a moderate yarding only, y /but the quality was better than last week. Prices, if anything, were firmer all round. Best, steers to £2l 15s, ordinary £IG to £lo, extra cows and heifers to £l7 15s, ordinary £l2 to £ls 15s. Store cattle was a fair yarding amu tiro quality all round was above the average of the recent markets and equal to last weeks. Three-year oin steers £8 10s to £9 2s Gd, two year olds £6 12s Gd to £7 2s Gd; yearlings £2 10s to £3 ss.

Fat sheep had a smaller market owing to the factories being shut for the Easter holidays, and not killing until next week.

Prices of the lighter sorts were 2s easier; and the others were equal to last week’s rates.

Store sheep yielded a fair entry and all the standard lines wore quite equal to reeetnt prices, but backward conditioned and broken-mouthed ewes were mixed lots, and although they changed hands they did so as a regular price.

•All forward lambs and wethers and fresh even lines of owes found buyei s at recent prices.

Best two-tooth ewes from 30s to 38s; medium to inferior 24s to 28s; best rape line 18s 6d to 225; wethers were dull of sale at 22s to 28s; for best sound mouth ewes from 22s to 25s AR AH UR A FAT STOCK SALE. The usual fixture for the sale of fat Stock which is the ordinary course would have taken place next Monday was held yesterday owing to the former day being Faster Monday. There was a heavy yarding of cattle comprising 110 head and the quality was exceptionally good the lot were cleared an prices on a par with the last, sales at these yards. Sheep also sold Well 100 being yarded. There was keen dis appointment at no lambs being yarded though two vendors -advertised lots.

Messrs G. \Y. -Moss and Co. sold on on account of Mr. U. Adamson fourteen bullocks from £-17-6 to £l7. Six heifers from £lO-5 to £ll-7-0.

Messrs Sprnt Jeffries Co. sold on account Mr John Olsen, seven vcalers* from £2 4s to £0 ss. Nine light-weight-heifers from £5 15s to £9 12s 6d. One steer at £9 17s 6d. For Mr. H. Dicdrich, twelve bullocks from £ll to £l6 7s Od. Two heifers at £ll.

For Mr M. Patrick', sixteen bullocks from £l2 5s to £l6 2s 6d; seventeen cows and heifers from £lO 2s 6d to £l4 2s 6d.

For Mr .Tno. Diiedrieh, five bullocks at £9 17s 6d; eleven cows and heifers at £lO 2 S fid.

The next sale at the above jards ?s fixed for Wednesday, IStli April at 2.30 p.m., so as not to clash with Anzac Day.
