POLLARD’S PICTURES.
“ The Sins of the Mothers ” the big pictnre for Monday night next gives Anita Stewart a character that gives this really clever artist an opportunity of displaying her great talent as an actress. Her impersonation of the young wife with an inherited taint that hor husband cannot check or save hßr from, aDd which ends in tragedy is a splendid characterisation that has seldom been equalled upon the stage. She is well supported by Earle Williams as the husband and Julia Swayne Gordon as the adventurer's mother. The second star feature “Midnight at Maxims ” as the name infers is a big replica of the hilarity and jollification that gosa on at New York’s merriest, maddest night' club after the clock strikes 12. The pioture is a startling revelation of the hosts of pretty woman and gay abandon with which tho .dances, parades revues and all the fun and life that takes place at New York’s night club, made famous in the musical comedy of tho Merry Widow.
