National Service
j, (Received March l, at 9.40 a.m.) London, Feb 28 la the Commons, iu the debate on National Service, many members urged the necessity of amendment for preventing the application of compulsion in any form against the clergy. Government have submitted an amendment since which was finally admitted, preventing compulsory service and preventing the transfer of labor from one industry to another, by order-in-council of the Defence of the Realm regulations. The Commons refused to omit Ireland from the scheme. The Bill passed the committee stage.
