PATRIOTIC FUNDS.

February Collections

The Overseas Club (Hokitika Branch) is in receipt of the following contributions towards the above fund :

Waikakupa list, par E. A. Gibb E A Gibb 5/; G Gibb, Mrs MacLauchlan, each 2/6 ; F Gibb, M Gibb, E Gibb, C Gibo, each 2/. Total 18/. Okarito list, per J W Thomson— J W Thomson 2/6 ; T Mcßride 2/; F Heveldt, P Paganini, T Casey, J O’Gonnor, W Gray, D McPherson, each 1/. Total 10/6. Total for February, £1 8/6. It is interesting to record that up to the ond of January last £660 17/6 has been collected in Westland for the Overseas Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Tobacco Fund, The whole of the amount, without any deduction for expenses, has gone forward to London, whence comfortß have been procured and distributed to all parts of the war fronts.

The February collections, at the request of some regular local subscribers, will be devoted to the British sailors on patrol- duty who are ro much in the public thoughts of late by reason' of the snbmarine menace and the exploits of the raiders.
