Russian Successes
(Australian & N K. Cable Association). PETR-OGRAD, Feb. 11. Tbo “Daily Mail’s” Petrograd cor. respondent states that the Russians hold their gains on the Riga front- or seven miles. The Germans concentrated all their available forces in attempts to dislodge us. The heaviness of the enemy losses recalled the battle of Verdun. The 'Russians are holding the rehahited line and threaten Milan and ibe whole German left- flank. . An Army order found on a prisoner advised eating crows as excellent nutritious food.

Estimated Forces.

'J'ho “Morning Post's” Petrograd correspondent says it is officially estimated that te enemy forces over a thousand miles of Russian front averages a division for every six miles; on the French front a division every four miles; an the Salonika front a division every fourteen miles. Italy's Front. LONDON, Feb. 12. The “Daily Chronicle’s” corresponuont on the Gorizia front line says fine trench systems on both sides have - been elaborately developed during the recent quiet months, sometimes within half a dozen yards of each other. In other places the parapets are separated only by impassable cocoon entanglements. The hills everywhere ■ are covered by bewildering complications of galleries, tunnels and terraces.
