Of Mr Wilson’s Action.

Senator Stone moved a resolution in the Senate, endorsing.Mr Wilson’s action. Mr Lodge strongly sapportei tha motion, declaring that during the crisis, party lines should not exist. He approved of Mr Wilson’s refusal to place an embargo on arms aDd "munitions and added—“ lu severing relatione with Germany Mr WiLoa followed a coune of houour, safety and future security of United States,” Senator Sherman said that any other course taken by Mr Wilson would have bo.n cowardice. Gaimauy’tsNote means a return to the stone age and tbe wholesale destruction of women and children. They must condemn such barbarous methods.
Senator Smith (Republican) approved of Senator Stone’s motion, but hoped that tha country would be spared the horrors of war. Senators Yardaman and Work did not apptovo of Presidmt Wilson’s course. Senator Vardanian, who is* a pacifist, added that if war comes he will vote with the President to use the last man and the last farthing.
Big Steamer Sunk
London, Feb 7
The British steamer Saxon Britton of 13,466 tons has been eunk. Two of the crew were killed. Tbe Azul of 307 tons is believed to be sunk. Twelve survivors are aboard a sailer.
