lIARIIIARI STOCK SALE. The annual summer sale of surplus stock was held at Messrs Sprot, Jeffries and Coy’s, yards oil ThursdSiy, the entry being a record one for the district of both sheep’ and cattle. The quality of the yarding far exceeded that of any previous fixture, and as there. was a large attendance of buyers competition was exceedingly keen, and every pen was cleared at top prices. Many buyers were unable to get requirements, and had to go short. The following are the principal sales: SHEEP.
On account Mr Norman Friend fpnvately), 153 ewes and wethers fat at 30s 36 lambs at 15s. For Mr W. Berry 105 mixed owes and wethers with few hoggets 23s Id. CATTLE,. For Mr T. Ford, 13 2-yr steers at £8 8s; eight mixed steers and heifers from £5 to £7; for Mr W. Searle, 11 heifers at £5 18s; twenty one cows with calves, from £7 5s to £B. For Mr G. McMillan, foureen cows, steers and heifers'from £5 12s to £8 10s. For Mr James Thompson, twenty-one 2 and 24yr steers at £9 15s. For Mr Jos. Manera, twenty-six 2 and 3-yr steers from £7 10s to £lO 4s, eight 2-yr steers tie £6 14s; fifteen dry and forward cows from £7 7s to £8 17s 6d; four 18months heifers at £4 14s. For Mr Sam Mitchell, fifteen steers and bullocks from £4 17s to £l3 17s Gd. For Mr J. Hewer, sixteen cows and vealers from £6 to £7; eight calves at £2 os. For Mr. E'. Kirby, seven cows at £5 17s. For Mrs Scott-Kobei-tson, i cow and calf at £ll ss. For sundry clients, thirteen dry and empty cows from £5 10s to £S ss, three stags from £5 7s to £8; thirty-six calves and yearlings from 42s to £3 17s 6cL
For Mr Davey, 75 Fully Paid Up shares in Dairy Factory at 19s 3d, ana a Reid and Gray’s convertible plow £l2 10s.
