The Cabinet has been considering the matter for three weeks, and approval has been given to the setting up of-a new bedy io be known as the Industrial Efficiency Board. It will be small and carefully chosen ; in fact, its personnel would have been announced by this time bat for the difficulty experienced in getting four men of commanding business experience and of well known ability to take the positions. This beard will act as a central body, iu concert v.ith committees to be set np in the principal districts of the Dominion. It will advise the Government as to tbe state ; or tha labour market, and the moaos to be adopted iu meeting shortages. One of its first duties will be to advise as to the use which can bo made of men called in the ballot but found medically unfit for service abroad. The board is to be composed of men having a broud experience of industrial problems but the local committses will have a wider range of representation, so as to include ail the inters?ts involved Id any complete .-•v s Tie of relation.
