Imperial Purchases (Received Jan 16, at 9.55 a.m.) Melbourne Jau 16 Mr Hughes announced that the first wool appraisements were on a highly satisfactory bsais. The clear cost was cabled to London and critically examined by English experts who endorsed aa technically correct all the particulars. The Imperial Government had adopted the *uggsstion that payment be made fourteen days after appraisement was accepted. Commonwealth retains of the money for adjustments. Arrangements have been completed ■with the Imperial Government to purchase the exportable surplus sheep Akins, four thousand bales monthly, including all available crossbreds, at prices fixed by the Commonwealth sheep-skins appraisers, pins charges. The balance will ha sold by public tender through the Central Wool Committee, which will fix the reserve price, at not less than the appraisement value.
