LONDON, Jan. 3.—The Liquor Control Board prohibit the sale of whisky, brandy, rum and gin unless reduced to thirty degrees under-proof, representing a further five por cent reduction in strength. SHANGHAI, Jan. 3.—The Japanese steamer Hakakamaru was wrecked in a blizzard off Cliefooo owing to terrible seas. Those of the crew and passengers who escaped drowning were marooned for three days.
