THE CALEDONIAN SPORTS.
Very Successful Gathering.
The Caledonian Sporfca on the Hokitika racaoourse yesterday proved an unqualified success. There was a very large attendance upwavds of I, being present, of which a large number were of the fair sex, The whole arrangements passed off very successfully, the officials being most atlentivo. The booth did a good trade and the tea rooms also added to the grand total of the substantial takings of the day, a band of willing workers doing their utmost for the general success. There was a large infkx of visitors, the day being a great success. The dancing was a special feature of the day and proved very enjoyable, there being a large number of new facss competing. Thß results wers as follows : Quoitirg—F. Cornliffe 1, J. R, Scott 2. Wilson, McLean, St6yensonj Parkinson, Stapleton,- . Blackman, Stpwart, Barman, Atkinson, Barker, and Stapleton also competed.
