Mrs. Bock, t3io club's president, welcomed the visitors who were present and introduced Mrs. Austin (president of the Wellington Association), who declared ithe green open. In the course of her remarks.Mrs. Austin congratulated the clulb on the fact that itspresident, Mrs. Bock, had been elected to the position, of deputy handicapper to the Wellington - Croquet Association, and in speaking of the social side of the game, said that frequenitly life-long friendships were formed on the courts. The pfficial visitors included Mrs v Earle MeKenzie, Mrs.. Rhodes Williams, Mrs Booeock and Mrs. Johnson. The competitions which, took place during the afternoon resulted as follows:—"Golf," Mrs Ramsay first> Mrs Wilds runner-up; "French," Mrs Scott j first, Mrs Mitchell runner-up; "Mat" j Mrs Ma thews first, Mrs. Sedgwick run-ner-up; "Hoop," Miss McKenzie first, j Mrs. Capes Tunner-»up.
