LAVENDER FAIR.

Wesley Hall was very prettily and ! gaily decorated for the Lavender Fair, ( which took place there, on Friday night,.; Saturday afternoon, and Saturday night. Mrs. Sharp, in declaring the fair open, said that as soon as the Girls' Club became awarethat the BeLniont Methodist Sunday School; was badly in need of funds to carry on the work, they had started to work for the Fair, and to such effort that in seven weeks, preparations were: complete, and she thought that the girls deserved every encouragement for their splendid effort and hoped that everyone present , would so open their hearts and pxurses that there would, be nothing left; There were many -well-stocked stalls, with thp' following ladies in charge:—Produce Stall, Misses D. Johnson and N. Shearex; Fancy Stall, Mrs. Maunder and Miss Smith; Sweet Stall, Misses B. Hoare and J. Heggie; Cako Stall, ■ Misses V. Bird and M. Jenkins; Florarer Stall, Misses Frethey and, J. Taylor; Xmas Tree, Misses Saunders and B. lE^oote. iSupper took place in the adjoining school-room with Miss Page and Miss M. Smith supervising. There was a short programme each evening.
