SOCIAL GATHERING.
The Congregational Church, Lower
Hutt, Avas the scene of a very happy 'gathering oni Thursday evening last. A concert party from tiie Petone Church of Christ provided the programme, which was well received. Those performing were as follows:—instrumental duets: Miss Annie and Master I-Iolgate"; elocoition, Mr. A. Libttezeit; vocal solo and story without words: Miss Biri'cM;. dulcimer,^olo, .Mr. Appleton; Story without words. Miss and Mf. L. Usmar; concertino solo^'Mr. Me-, Guehan. In addition to the above there "were three burlesque sketches,:
'■ 'Mr.' Nawara >s Band," "The Obstructive Hat" and "Toddles- Doodlums.' '■ Most of tfre party were engaged in these items. Supper-"was provided by the ladies' of the ehurc-h. : The Rev.
R. T. Wearne thanked those who had made the evening so enjoyable. The singing of A.uld Lang Syne concllded the evening's eniertainment. /
