TRINITY CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

SpOXAI* A naive little poem accompanied each invitation to "A Measuring Social" which took place in the Trinity Congregational Church on Thlrsday night. The poem conveyed the suggestion that each recipient should measure his—-or her— height, and that each foot of their stature should be represented by a donation of threepence to the church fnads

and that a penny should 'be added for each inch beyond the last foot. The church funds surely deserve to benefit royally as the result of such an ingenious device. The social was held in the- hall which is . attached to the church. Harry .TotTnston, Moderator of the Congregational Union,, was present, and said what pleasure it gave him to spend an evening with all at the Hutt. He spoke very feeling' of Mr. Wearne's work, and congratulated the Hutt Church on the progress it hart made, one evidence of which *as tho splendid hall which had been built.
