HUTT VALLEY HARRIERS.
Tie. members of the "above eluib had a very delightful time in the week-end When they journeyed to Masterton where the boys competed with the Masterton harriers—most satisfactorily! Their bus left Petone about 8 a.m, collecting the other members on the way. Morning tea was enjoyed at Kaitoke, and the party reached Masterton at 11.30, after another short stop at Cartertoa for refreshments. In the afternoon the Hutt Valley boys competed ! with the Masterton harriers in a run of about seven miles, the result being a •brilliant win for the Huttites, Gr. Bain ■ (Hutt) being first, L. Carmichael (Hutt) second, and B. Smith (Hutt) third. The Masterton folk were most hospitaible, and entertained their visitors in the evening at the Parish Hall, where; said one of ; t&e jguests, "We had a gorgeous time!" In addition to a delightful supper, occasion was taken to present the Masterton harriers, who are the winners thisfyear, the Hutt harriers being the victors last year. Mr. Hadley, president of. the Hutt Club, make tHe presentation. It was most fortunate the weather was in happy mood, for the visitors were able to wander round and enjoy the charms of Masterton on Sunday morning, starting for 'home at about 2.30 in the afternoon. At the dance, Mts. Hadley wore a frock ofpink georgette, the other Hutt ladies •being Misses Trainer, in pink taffeta; Carmichael, blue chenille velvet, and georgette; Powell, white georgette; Rowe, red georgette; Jones, blue georgette; Hodgkinson, green taffeta; Broe, pink georgette.
