A DANCE.
Hwemoa Tennis Club. A very jolly dance, under the auspices •of the a/bove club, was held in the Lyceum Hall on Tuesday, July Bth. The -dance, owing to the energetic efforts of the committee ; waa most successful, but regret was felt that the founction was not better attended. The hall looked very gay and cosy, the decorations being of lycopadium, ferns, balloons and red and, white streamers. Mr Dul Faur, as \isual, made an efficient M.C., and the Pascoe Gaiety Orchestra was in attendance. The following ladies and gentlemen comprised thecomjnittee: Mrs N. te^V Misses EC Mair and N. Pointon, and Messrs J. K. Hale. Robinson, MeKinnon and Hooper. During the evening an exhibition of dancing was given by two small pupils of Miss Bartosh—Audrey Lee and Noeline —who wore pink frilled tulle and pale green satin respectively, socks to tone, and silver slippers. Among those present were: Mrs. Lee, flowered rayon; Mrs Mair, black georgette; Mrs Tynan, heliotrope mariette; Mrs Dv Faur, black lace; Fraser, black lace; the Misses Hale, black velvet and frilled tulle; Turner, pink chenille velvet; Burridge, black tulle; Ward, mauve lace; Stevens, orange crepe-de-chene; Mair. yelloiw chenilles-velvet; Hartley,- green tulle and taffeta; Pointon, salmon and silver lace; BaTtish, green panne velvet and lace; C. GeorgS, green crepe-de-chene; Bowley, white m&riette, frilled skirt, trimmed rosebuds; and the Messrs Lee, MeLeod, T. Mair, Flowers, Mackay, Fitzgerald, Grimsley and Fraser.
